Some questions came up regarding a simple antenna for all 3 bands (a CW
ops "wide-open spaces" during sunspot maxima) that would not have the
narrow finger lobes of a 135' doublet and ATU. I first thought about
fanning dipoles, but the frequecies are too close to each other, and
interaction is very high according to models. So I came up with a
possibly better solution--a dipole cut for 17 and fed with parallel line
and possibly rotatable on a standard 30' length of TV mast (Armstrong
method to cut expenses). Results of preliminary design work are at the
site under the subject-line title. Hope something in the ideas is useful
to someone.
