Construction of the Butternut for example is by a slit across the end of the
tubing of the larger piece as if one was to take a hacksaw and cut from the
end into the tube lengthwise about 3/4 of an inch (slightly farther on
larger tubing).  Again, on the smallest tubing, a hole is then drilled
through both pieces after insertion and a small stainless bolt is inserted
to draw the slit end down against the smaller piece (this on joints where
adjustment will not be necessary).  It may be advised to use an
anti-oxidizing paste (several brand names, i.e. Anti-Ox) during assembly to
maintain a non-corroded surface at the joint.  Joints on larger tubing or on
smaller tubing where adjustment will be necessary will use stainless screw
type hose clamps of the appropriate size rather than the bolts.
