[CCF] Bird 43 probe mods.?

Have anybody messed around with a Bird 43 probe?

Basically I'm looking for a 5KW probe called 5000H, but as You all know they
cost a awfull lot of money. So, when looking in my junk box I found a 50-125MHz
probe able to handle 50Watts. I opened up the the plug and now I'm wondering if
I can modify this plug to suit my needs. 

1. Frequency 2-30MHz
2. Power 5000Watts

What do I need to take care of? There is a potentiometer in the probe, 25KOhm and
a inductor wounded around a core. Any suggestions, perhaps someone else tried
to modify a Bird probe??
