Jos olette ihmetelleet miksi Unkarista löytyy niin paljon huijareita kontesteissa tässä on osaselitys. Tosin maassa on radiourheiluhuijaamisella pitkät perinteet.

Dear W_RadioSPORT_TC-er friends,

I am glad being member of this reflector and see how much serious work and investment was required from the organizers to assure the excellent contest places and friendly climate in order to the allow the carefully selected HAM radio operators to compete in the HAM Radio Olympic Games. Also it was an important experience for me that referees and the Contest Comitee played and important role to assure clear climate that everybody appreciated even with the hard decision of unique contacts filtering. It was not like sport but it was sport! Radio SPORT!

In the past five years I heard WRTC so many times in Hungary as an argument if our hobby was sport. MRASZ the Hungarian Radio Amateur Society declared itself as a sport association five years ago and reorganized itself accordingly. Please see MRASZ website: http://www.mrasz.hu/

(Enter clicking onto Hungarian flag, clicking onto "MRASZ Alapszabály" button on the left frame)

A PDF document opens and if you have reader program installed on your computer please search the word "sport". 98 occurrences will be reported. From the legal point of view the document is perfect and finally MRASZ was accepted into the Sport Associations by the Hungarian government. Both the association and their sportswomen and sportsmen became eligible to receive subsidies after the achieved "sport success". IARU HF World Championship is considered by a sport event in Hungary. Without referees and thorough investigation by contest comity the result is reported to the Hungarian government and it pays money to MRASZ and to its "sportsmen" directly.

Here is the 2006 report about subsidies to Hungarian sports associations:
http://www.nssz.hu/doc/sportagi_tam_2006.xls
Source: NSSZ website (National Sport Association 2006 payment)

Here is an article how much payment sportsmen can receive this year after their success in world championships:
http://www.nsh.hu/index.php?id=1021&backPID=1021&tt_news=3591
Source: NSH website (National Sports Office the state control organization of sports associations.

The article says that in 2006 sportsmen can get 10% more payment than in 2005.

How the state intervention influences us? Is it good or bad?

ARRL published the list of claimed scores of IARU HF Championship. I was wondering this year "success" of Hungarian sportsmen. Please see the preliminary orders in all 12 contest categories:
http://holman.ehc.hu/IARU_HF_2006_claimed_scores.zip
(see all four sheets of the file)

2004: three Hungarian world champions
2005: four Hungarian world champions
2006: five Hungarian world champion candidates
.
2013: all 12 categories won by Hungarians?

In the past five years MRASZ organized its contest according to sport laws. In my opinion the rules of our contests can never ever be harmonized by sport laws due to the lack of referees and audience. The result of the Hungarian experiment is painful. Please see many disqualified contesters in HADX since 2002. Last two year results are published on MRASZ website clicking on English flag then HA Contest results.

How we can resolve this situation? We have tried to discuss it locally without any result. Please see:

I ask for the opinion the international contest community.

Thank you, CU in contests de ha5pt, ha6m in contests
Tamas
