Hi
Teemu's (SM0W) good proposal made me think of options that we have
for "operations models". Jouko (OH1RX) also reminded (my perhaps ambiguous
comprehension of his message) that the discussion/decision making should be
democratic. Independent of who's a prominent contester - I understood.
Teemus sayd:
"I therefore urge the CCF board to plan a SAC Forum for the CCF Cruise in
January, where this issue could be debated and decisions could be made. "
I think that actually we could do better in terms of "democracy" by
discussing in the internet, or even better, on the bands (just like SRAL
has their"ask the executive committee members" sessions on 3.6 MHz). Some of
us still have radios! That's basically free from costs and access is better
from OZ, LA, SM7 or OH8 when compared to OH2-SM0 Cruise, that you have to
spend 48 hours on (I'd also like to visit only for Saturday's program). On
Saturday many will have a terrible hang-over. On the other hand, some say
that best ideas sprout when you are somewhat toxicated... When we decided
about starting CCF in Kouvola 1996 (or was it Lahti...1995?) there was
never any protocol kept, yet we remembered (did we?) the "nightly avid
events" on the next day.
=> On the Cruise we could already "elect" the members, election
does not need any voting, I think that it will so much work for those
who take part that all volunteers will qualify. The cruise would be
preceded by internet/band discussion and agreement among SAC organizers. We
don't have top slow down this process - in my opinion - let's try it now.

SAC Costs
I believe organizing SAC involves some costs. Plaques,
diplomas, pre and post contest marketing etc. In my understanding the
leagues have been responsible for covering the costs. If this is to
continue, they must be heard and they must OK any arrangements. The
one paying has actually "more votes".
