3V, TUNISIA. A station signing 3V8AS showed up on October 31, operating
CW on 21020 kHz between 1600 to 1630z. This was probably a SLIM, but WFWL.

40 meters CW. Check between 0130 to 0230z on 40 meters and begin looking

that both Hartmut and Bernd, 9X5AB, may begin possible operations on AO13
and AO10.

E2, THAILAND. A DXpedition is planned for December 10-12 to the island
of Koh Samui. It was reported that the island is located in the Gulf of
Thailand. No IOTA number has been assigned as of yet, but the call sign
will be E28DX. This is a new prefix. The operators will be HS1AAM,
HS1CDX, HS1HSJ and HS0/G3NOM. Their activity will include RTTY as well
as CW and SSB.

FM, MARTINIQUE. Lee, FB1MUX, will be active from November 22 to December
7 using the call sign FM2GO. It will be the first time the FM2 prefix
will be used. There will be activity during the CQ WW CW Contest on 15
meters only. QSL to Lee Fontaine, Box 124, F-28113 LUCE Cedex, France.

JD1, MINAMI TORISHIMA. Both JK1ABP/JD1 and JH1MAO/JD1 are now active from
here. The Front Range DX cluster reports JH1MAO/JD1 was spotted on 28464
kHz around 0000z and JK1ABP/JD1 on 10106 kHz around 1500z.

JY, JORDAN. Bernd, DL1VJ, will be active from November 21 thru December
6. He will be active on CW and on all bands. Operations include activity
in the CQ WW CW Contest as JY8VJ. QSL via the Bureau or DL1VJ: Bernd
Laenger, P.O. Box 1240, W6603 Sulzbach/Saar, Germany. Meanwhile, Zedan,

around 1300 to 1430z.

KH1, HOWLAND ISLAND. Mike, K9AJ, informed OPDX, that a DXpedition to
Howland Island is planned for early 1993. The operation will start around
January 26, and last for seven days. A multi-national group of ten
operators will be active on all bands and modes. Further information
will follow.

PACIFIC DXPEDITION. Mike, G4IUF, will be traveling around the Pacific
beginning from New Zealand on November 10 thru the 15 as N6SVL/ZL. From
November 15 thru the 18 he will be active from Cook Islands as ZK1IF.
Between November 15 thru the 22 he will be active as KH8/N6SVL from
American Samoa and or 5W1VL from Western Samoa. He will return to New
Zealand on November 25th and stay thru the 30th before heading to the
U.S.A., where he will sign N6SVL/7 from December 1 until the 4.

SV5, DODECANESE AND SV9, CRETE. Three Hungarians will be active from
November 26 to December 5 on CW/SSB/RTTY. The length of stay at each
location is unknown. Operators will be HA6NA, HA6PX and HA6ZV.

TT, CHAD. TU2CI told one of the users of the Front Range DX Cluster in
Colorado that he would be active from Chad as TT8SA in December.
Bart, K4CEF, from the Southeastern Cluster Group supplies the following
update and schedule for Ken's, WA4OBO, trip to Chad: Ken, a member of the
Carolina DX Association, is scheduled to depart Charlotte, NC on Nov. 4
for a 2-3 weeks operation. After a brief stop in Europe he will arrive in
N'djamena on Nov. 10. Ken will be operating as TT8OBO and will be on the
air as his work schedule allows. He will be working with the Chad
government as an advisor to their cotton and textile industry. Ken is
allocating several days at the beginning and end of his trip for nothing
but radio activity and will be on 80-10 meters on SSB only including WARC
bands. For all CW buffs, Ken is working to have two other hams in Chad to
handle the CW operations using his call. Ken will have at least two
stations for his use. One is already in place in Chad. It is there with
one of the Americans who does not have a license to operate. Additional
rigs are also being carried. WA4UUP has furnished his Kenwood TS-450 and
Yaesu is offering an FT990 to assist in the operation. INDEXA has
furnished an SB200 amplifier and QSLs are from W4MPY and INDEXA. Current
plans also call for a return trip to TT8 in February or March 1993 and
time is also being built into the trip for plenty of DXing. QSLs will
be via Ken's home call. The above information via K4MQG.

XX9, MACAO. XX9AS was heard on 28380 kHz around 2354z. QSL via KU9C
using the 1992 callbook.

ZS8, MARION ISLAND. Jeff, WB3JFS, had a conversation with Pete, ZS2T, in
which Pete stated that a group of scientists are going to Marion Island
sometime in January. It is not known if any hams will be traveling with
this group.
