HTX-100 and transverters

Does anyone have any experience modifying a Realistic HTX-100 10m mobil rig for 
use with a transverter? I have an HTX-100 and some plans for a transverter
(from the July QEX) that I would like to combine, but I'm a bit leary about 
opening up a perfectly good radio and applying my golden screw driver!

Any help or comments would be appreciated. Thanks...
