Yes, I am ultimately responsible for the messages that pass through the
gateway. I would rest easier knowing that the message content was of a
nature that I need not worry about. The alternative is to personally
verify each message before releasing it. Right now I dump the mail into
an area on the BBS, and also get a copy in my mailbox at work. Therefore
I usually see messages within an hour of them getting to the BBS, and can
kill something quickly enough if need be. (Note that I don't forward
any of this - it's just made available in one of the areas here.)
As for the comments about "if I wanted to send to packet I would send
to packet," I find that a rather odd statement when the hobby we partake
in revolves around communicating. Because of the gateway here one of the
premier contesting crews in Canada (VE7ZZZ) has access to this mailing
list. Would you prefer that I close the gateway and isolate them from
this discussion?
Come on, people, have a bit of common sense and let's get back to
discussing contests.
