There's a big difference between headsets. I've been using the Beyer
headset (studio type) and it's very comfortable. After a lot of messing
around with the original mike element I replaced it with a Heil element.
The Heil is OK but not as good as the 'ol Shure 444 or D104 for punch
and clarity. I recently scanned a buyer's guid to aircraft accessories
and tried out a David Clark headset a guy at work has (he's a pilot).
The sound isolation was great, but it was TIGHT and UNCOMFORTABLE.
He said it really hurts after an hour. Look for one that's light and
comfortable, but keeping out ambient noise (from amps, computers,
XYL, etc.) is of prime importance to me. Anyone else tried pilot's
headsets and found one that fits the bill?
