I've heard of guys typing ahead in the log portion of CT and hitting
"enter" just to make sure that the random number generator is disabled.
I suppose one could make a .RES file of 2500 Q's, r2b it, run CT on
the preloaded .BIN and not worry about the Saturday Night lottery.
Of course, the rate window and graphs would be out of sight........
Don't know what you'd do about the time............................
There would be a lot of CTRL page up and ALT F1, F2 work..........
If your prewritten .BIN file showed N4BO in SJV or SCV section, you
know it's wrong...................................................

Just like to comment that I think the automatic check partial,
updated with each keystroke, is the greatest thing since
sliced bread for S&P.
You can just turn it off by going to call or country mode if you
dont want it. Also if there is no Master.dat file the Super
Check Partial doesnt work so what is the big deal?

I sincerely hope that, if K1EA is going to "fix" this it is still
going to be available for anyone who thinks it is ok.

Be careful how you "stamp" the software. If you hardwire the callsign into
the logging output you're going to have a tough time selling to any
Canadian hams. We like to come up with strange prefixes for WPX every
year, and nobody is going to buy a new copy of your software every time
they get a special prefix allocated for a contest or other event.
This could be even more of a problem soon. Communications Canada has an
application before it right now concerning Canadian 2X1 callsigns. It
looks like these will be allocated on a per-request basis for a specific
event. Therefore these calls will get shuffled around between many
different groups every year. How is your software going to deal with this?
Pete has the right idea - put the registered owners *name* (not address,
not callsign, not anything else that's subject to change) on the banner
screen (only). This gives you the embarrasment factor without compromising
the legitimate operation of the software.

operating from VE7ZZZ, which is known as CZ7Z during WPX ...
What callsign do I stamp on my copy of the software?)

OK fellow contesters...I'm really going to try to do it this
weekend. I am really going to finally (after 20 years of
contesting) try for a clean sweep....it is obvious from the
email that VE8/Yukon is by far the most difficult section to
nab. Some even mentioned a VY1 that was only answering
CQ's in the SS CW test....
Any suggestions? thanks!!! 73, Tom WB4IUX (SC)

Hi All,
A while back I mentioned I was looking for some low-visual-impact
antenna ideas. Got some good insights from K1VR, N2ALE/6, N4OGW,
WB5VZL, K7GM/4, WA7BNM, K7YNO, and KA9FOX, MANY THANKS!!! I have
read all the antenna books I can get my hands on, but there's nothing
like actual experience...
Among the options I tossed out for consideration were
* get a vertical like an HF6V
* go to quasi-rare section like Wyoming.
Turns out I am now planning BOTH of these, so please look for N6KL
this weekend on the Phone SS from WYOMING! Picked up a used HF6V
Monday, and will cart it plus the IsoLoop to Guernsey, WY (Platt County).
Should be fun!

I can honestly sympathize with you contesters who wonder whether
to sign portable.....I was exiled to Ft. Worth, Texas, at one point in my
life and started signing WB4IUX/5. It's bad enough that I don't want
to give up my 2x3 callsign....I guess I just have an emotional attachment
to it after 25 years, but when I signed "portable 5" that just made it
worse.
So, besides being relieved when I escaped the Texas border heading
east as fast as my Mazda GLC would go, I dropped the portable 5.

ps: No flames intended against Ft. Worth -- it's just the halo effect of
a lot of bad things in my life at the time.
pps: It's even worse when I go to Bermuda .... they don't allow visitors
to get VP9 callsigns. Imagine saying WHISKEY BRAVO FOUR
INDIA UNIFORM XRAY PORTABLE VICTOR PAPA NINE ten thousand
time in a weekend. And the countless idiots who come back to you
screaming two letters of their call.........aaaarrrrrrrrrggggggggghhhhhhhh
