Saludos,
	XE1MX sprint score op. XE1/AA6RX
	20 85
	40 102
	80 6

	    193 X 35 = 6755

This was a true last minute effort. I took my computer and TS-440 over to my
buddy Marcos' house around 3pm. We threw up a 40 MTR dipole and put coax on
his brand new TH-2 at 10 feet off the roof. Then I tried to make it work. No
luck. So my entry is a 100w/40MTR dipole effort. If I had taken some
time
to reaquaint myself with Tree's software I think I could have broken 200 Qs.
But I really suffered in the mult dept. Ark was the only state I can recall
hearing and not working.
About the beam...I did a check with KM9P and the dipole was better
than the beam by a factor of 2! What was wrong? In the heat of the moment
I misread the coax tags and was testing not the TH-2, but a 5 el monobander
for 10 m that was lying on the roof. Hats off the the Kenwood antenna tuner
for loading it!!!
Look for us in the SSB Sprint. I hope to multi-op with Marcos so he
can get a feel for this toughie of contests.

NOTES: This is my third VHF/UHF contest. Not a lot of activity and
disappointing propagation for this one. Missed some good stuff on 2M
since my
multi-mode was in the shop, I was forced to use FM only on 2M. Contacts
were
slow and far between (I made more contacts on 1296 FM during 6 hours on
field
day than I did on 2m during this whole contest) there was much more
activity in
June.
