Hi All,

While many are attending the ARRL National Convention, I'm accompanying
my wife to Boston where she is attending a professional conference.
Therefore, I have nothing better to do Sunday, June 12 thru Tuesday,
June 14 than to wander around the Northeastern countryside. Thought
I might take a trip down to Newington to visit the ARRL, but am
interested in any suggestions of ham radio sites/sights to visit.
When you're used to the sprawl of Southern California, everything in
the Northeast seems close. Will still be accessing the Internet daily
and am attempting to get my portable packet system operational so that I
can attempt to log on the DX super PacketCluster system (are guests
allowed?).

So let me know if you have any suggestions.

My xyl saw a piece on TV the other day describing a great new product for
sale in the US - diapers (nappies, as we would call them) for TV-watching
baseball fans, so you won't miss that great home run. Guess this could be a
handy product for single-op contesters to avoid breaking off that 200 an hour
run ...

NASA may have some of those early space suits left over too,
they last for several days - enough for a whole DXpedition,
never mind a measly 48-hr contest.

Subject: Need Cushcraft Help for CQP
Message-ID: <199406091447.OAA23007 at eco.twg.com>

Last year I badly mangled my Cushcraft A3 on a county expedition for the
California QSO Party. Since only a few months remain before this year's big
opener to contest season, I decided to get get ready for CQP by ordering
replacement parts. I called the Cushcraft Service number I have on file (
603-627-7879) and got a MaBell message that the number was not in service "for
incoming calls". (I never heard THAT message before!) So I called Manchester
information and got a new number: 603-668-6130. When the fellow at the
other end answered, I thought I had a wrong number. But he verified that I
had dialed the correct number and no, this wasn't Cushcraft. Then he went
on to say that the company was now closed.

Huh? What's going on here? I don't mean to start false rumors, but there's my
data. Has Cushcraft gone out of business?
