The 1994 Texas QSO Party is coming up soon (October 22-23). The Armadillos
are getting ready - several will be on the road to provide a high number of
county mults for the non-Texans out there (Texas has 254 counties!). We hope
to have significant participation from the contest community, so, PLEASE pass
the word, and make plans to get on. Complete rules are published in
September 1994 QST and CQ magazines.

We have written multiplier and template files for use with NA version 9. The
file, TQP.ZIP, contains complete rules, mult files, and templates, and can be
downloaded from KB5NFN's Bulletin Board at (713)777-0821.

Hope to see you in the contest! 73 de Don, KI3L

Would it be OK in your book to allow skeds to be made via the internet or
before the contest for CQWW?? By this I mean, "Please call me on 1835 at
0400Z" , not "I'll be active in the contest...please listen for me on
160M."

Would it also be OK to tune the WARC bands during CQWW looking for
multipliers that could be moved to the contest bands??

I think not..........just my thoughts. It seems that VHF contest
operators have a very different set of radio ethics that govern them. It
seems that this would violate the "spirit" of the competition and possibly
encourage the writing of new rules every time a new "loophole" is discovered.

I would like to go on record saying that this "enter in the single band
category, make some other QSOs on the side, then count your score as an
all band score for club points" thing is news to me, and I know I have
read the rules. I guess this issue is not addressed in the rules.

Hello friends,
during the CQWWDX-CW Contest DL5XX will operat from Galapagos Isl. as

                           *** DL5XX/HC8 ***

or with a HC8... call. Before and after the contest I will operate
mainly CW including WARC bands. Don't know so far whether I can bring
an ampifier to the Island. If not I'll run with 100 watts, 3 el Beam
and wires for the low bands.

QSL to DL5XX.

obviously there are lots of people out there that want to see all the scores
and comments after a contest. there are also many who get overloaded with
messages and/or have to pay by the message to read all those scores that they
may not care about. My suggestion for this conflict still seems to be the
best and easiest... make another address (preferably @ the same place) just
for scores and comments (maybe cq-contest-scores?). this way we could all
either see them or not depending on our interests and mail capabilities
without having to unsubscribe from all the other stuff. A one liner type
summary posted to the normal cq-contest reflector once or twice a week as
scores come in could keep everyone up to date if they couldn't handle the
volume of mail the score collection causes. also, if later on
you wanted to get just the scores and comments you could request an archive
of just them and not get all the other discussion stuff mixed in. except for
the mailing list operator this would seem to be the best all around solution.

Subject: WHICH DVK?

Hello all,

Probably a question asked many times before.....
Which DVK should I buy?

I haven't managed catch any one for an "on-the-air" test...to hear what
the different models sound like (with respect to the original radio audio
..so I'm relying on your expertise in this field.
Having said that...a sked could be arranged for a "real" demonstration.

It seems the market in France/UK for this product is real slow...I've
found one supplier of the MFJ 432 ...but he holds no stock!

So what's out there? How much? Use-ability?
I'm using Kenwood 450/TL922 with Kenwood Dynamic Mic/Sennheiser Electret

Please direct your messages to my e-mail address and I'll summarize for
the reflector.

Thanks,

Richard.

Then Zack's suggestion would be correct. You have to use significantly
different gases to get two different color lights ;-). If Zack decides
to try X-Ray lasers, please warn the eastern US so that we can evacuate
before he detonates the Nukes.

All,

I am working on getting the TQP.ZIP file made publically available by anonymous
FTP on my host server (bcm.tmc.edu). I will drop a message here as soon as I get
the file available. If anyone could suggest other anonymous FTP servers, I can
easily send the file over to one of them.

Finally, if anyone has questions about accessing my BBS (Several of you did when
PED was first released), please don't hesitate to ask. Please recall that
you must be at 9600bps or faster in order to log in, unless you are a
grandfathered
2400bps user.
