How right you are. A big trap that I get lulled into when I'm
very tired. I turn into a contest-droid. "Hit F1, listen, Hit F1,
listen, Hit F1, listen... ad nauseum."  Time to get the large hammer
and hit thumbnail very hard... Ah, I'm awake! Works everytime.

Just wondering what others do to not fall into this seductive trap?

  Thanks to N6TV, AA6KX, AA2DU, AB6FO, W5XD, N4ZR, K2WK, and W2UP. 

  The K1EA DVP users reported no delays and the LTA users reported no
  delays.

  Many suggested putting the .WAV files on a ram disk. I will try this 
  tonight. The use of a .WAV file editor was suggested also. I did have
  one that came with the sound blaster card and did trim the .WAV file.
  There are .WAV file editors on oak.oakland.edu. It was also suggested
  that any DOS drivers not be loaded when using windoze. That will also
  be explored tonight.

  The rotten audio continues. Ten-Tec is sending a new transmit audio 
  board. Hopefully this will clear up the problem.

-Use 2 radios, keep one of them transmitting all the time.

-Tack up rate sheets or numbers from last year and remind yourself that you
have no advantage over your W1 or W5 competitors (depending on the contest).
If you want to win, you have to work twice as hard as they do!

-Do jumping jacks, walk outside in the cold, take a shower... Anything to
get the blood moving to your brain again.

-Don't drink/take caffine before/during/after the contest.  It doens't help,
you just think it does because you've done it forever.  Take my word for
it...  Been there, seen that, done it!

Come on.  I prefer to cross-train with a combination of very strong 
coffee, Central American Cola (In the Bottle-not some recreational 
pharmaceutical) and handfulls of GUMMI BEARS! - Purchased in bulk and 
carefully transported to Belize.  If there are any left over, the locals 
love 'em.

Here are the changes since 9 October:

13 Oct 1994:    * Moved IG9, IH9 prefixes from Sicily, IT to Italy, I
(CTY-406)         (IT9BLB).
                * Updated prefixes for Canada, VE (VE2ZP).

The files are available from a number of sources:

1.  Send a message to CT-USER-REQUEST at eng.pko.dec.com to request the file
    you want, i.e.:

	GET CQWW.CTY

    Files are available NOW!

2.  FTP the file from:

	gatekeeper.dec.com:/pub/misc/hamradio/cty.zip

    This may take a day or two to catch up - look for a file dated
    October 13, 1994 or later.

3.  Download the file from the CT BBS at 508-460-8877.  Ken has promised
    to include the latest files as part of UPD-CT.  You may have to wait
    until the weekend, though, before they are available.

4.  Download the file CTY-406.ZIP from the W6GO BBS at 916-992-0923.

Note that if you a registered user of Version 9, you will get a program
update in the mail which will include the updated country files.

People's memories are short, and everyone seems to be making the same
mistakes, so here are some tips (look for >>>):

Here are the changes since 9 October:
