Thanks to all who replied to my question concerning guywire preforms (grips)
.
Yes, it seems the GDE1104 preforms will work well. By the way, the company
name is PREFORMED LINE PRODUCTS in Cleveland. I heard it wrong.

NPR is a customer of ours and because a bunch of folks at work think
that NPR is cool, I understand that we made some kind of deal to get
"advertising" (oops -- I guess it's called sponsorship) when they
elected to buy our product. Needless to say, NPR is now "on the net."
We also sponsor some PBS programming on KTEH in San Jose, as well as
on WGBH, just to remind our friends in the Boston area that we are
thinking about them.

Subject: SUMMARY - HF Remote
Message-ID: <04940909160240/0005720561PK2EM at mcimail.com>
Thanks to all who responded to my inquiry about HF remoting. Many felt
I go after the TVI problem, but that wasnt the thrust of my question.
Solving the TVI prob would be great, but keying up a remote stack
way out in the country would be EVEN BETTER.
- NC7K suggested getting in touch with NF7P in NV wo is working on a
system using UHF simplex links.
-WA6AUE also said the same
-AA2DU said to go after the neighbor problem
-suggestion to get by talking into a phone, use a boom telphone headset, and
use 222mhz for voice link and 2 packet setups with computer interface
-W6OTC looking for 3 or 4 yr old QST article about HF remote in W2 land
will forward info
-ON6TT Peter said "oh dear...too bad Danny...maybe time to back to QRP
operating ?" yeah RIGHT!! especially at the bottom of the cycle.
- WB5CRG suggested TVI fix with HP filter and other good suggestions.
-K5GN said no one ding it satisfactorily in TX he know of, but will check
it out
-great mobile HF ideas from KD1TZ - dont know if he was suggesting mobile as a
"cure" for TVI or if he misunderstood meaning of "remote" HF in my query.
either way good thinking on mobile stuff
Thanks to all who dropped a note. Still looking for anyone who has used
an AEA remote device, or other. Main question...is HF Remote hardware
sufficient for just casual DXing or will it play in contesting??
