A beacon that sends continuous CW v's has been heard for years on 7.002,
mostly during the winter. At rare times it ID's on CW as RCQ45. The signals
appear to be coming from the UL7/UA9 area.
The beacon is becoming copiable around 1130z long path and around 0100z
short path in Missouri. This evening it was quite strong.
For the past year I have been logging appearances of the beacon and
tape recording some of its more interesting variations.
Does anyone have any info or comments about this highly useful ( for
DXers) beacon? Anyone have ideas about its purpose? Where do you think it's
 located?
I am especially interested in comments from listeners in Europe/Asia.

Fall is around the corner and CQWW isn't far off . . .

This will announce a M/S operation from the QTH of ZF8AA on Little Cayman
Is. by N7MCA Mark Perrin and WJ7R Ron Vincent who will use the call ZF2MC
during the test.

We will operate all bands 160 - 10 with one run and one mult. station
using the ZF8AA gear and another complete station.

ZF2MC outside the test will operate mainly SSB on the low bands, and
ZF2RV will operate mainly CW on the low bands plus HOPEFULLY RTTY/Amtor
if a proper TNC is located. Also looking for additional HF2V Butternut
GP.

ZF2RV will make every effort to QSO Asia (JA) on CW and RTTY if
propagation permits outside the test. Also will look for EU/AF on these
modes as well. WARC bands QRV if open.

QSL to: CBA's of WJ7R for ZF2RV/ZF8 and N7MCA for ZF2MC/ZF8 . . .

73 es CU in the TEST!! de Ron WJ7R
