99 AND 44/100 PURE:
everything worked...had a good time... learned a bunch about this contest...
had some part time help so I could answer the pager and make morning rounds
at the hospital... It was fun to see them get excited over working dx...
Still need a 160 ant... and beverages on rx... Need to get up antennas for
the multiplier station... Need a better operating chair... much, much more
to do before next year, but at least it is up and running... quit when the
raw score hit 1 meg... after all, you need to leave room for improvement...
this was a true single with one rig, one op at a time, and no packet...

Single Op Assisted (I know, I know...) High Power Little Pistol Score

Did not call CQ once - this was strictly a S&P effort to try
and enhance my DXCC totals... got 9 new countries (along with 10 new
ones in SSB), plus numerous new bands and/or modes. If I counted
right, I now have 98 QSL cards to send out - that oughta keep me busy
for a while!

Only zone 5 I worked was a VP9, and only zone 3 was a VE7 who sounded
lonely and I was bored at the time. Also passed on zone 7, and don't
recall if I ever heard a zone 12 or not.

Only zone 4 contact was with a stn in ND that I had a sked with -
in fact this was my only US QSO during the contest. So, I definitely
could have upped my score some pretty easily! Anyway, thought it
would be interesting to add up the score and see what it turned out to
be...

Breakdown:
141 QSOs total (I didn't do a breakdown by band here, but most
of my QSOs were on 40, with 15m in second place.)
band zones countries
------ -------- ----------
80m 6 8
40m 20 53
20m 19 22
15m 17 32
10m 3 3
--------- -------- --------
Total 65 118

Time operated was 21:39 due to other family commitments

QSO points was 383, so total score = 70,089 points

and enhance my DXCC totals... got 9 new countries (along with 10 new

right, I now have 98 QSL cards to send out from cw alone - that
oughta keep me busy for a while!

40m was great! 15 and 20 weren't bad, but I don't think I ever
heard EU on either band (other than I and EA), *ALL* of my EU
contacts were on 40m. Didn spend much time on 80m, as the antenna
for 80 wasn't much good.

Also missed zones 17-19 (didn't really try), 21-23, 26, 29, 34
(would have tried but didn't hear!).

Only QSOs on 10m were 6D2X, HC8N, ZD8Z. Only station I worked on
5 bands was HC8N.

All in all, a lot of fun. Perhaps next year I can try for points
instead of countries - hi!

Thought I better put this on the reflector as alot of folks think that Yaesu
made a mistake. I don't work for, own stock, etc.

Hi Contesters, having read W2UP note about 17 lost QSO bcz of HIS signal being
miscopied, I wonder how much I loose with my richly doted callsign! Due to
programing error, my contest program was not abreviating 1 to A in the 59915
report when sent alone. I often used another function key which initiated
partners callsign together with 599A5 and I felt I was doing the right thing.

During the CQ WW CW contest, I had a feeling my good nearby friend was using
DX Cluster secretly as he was often chassing multipliers I just picked from
the screen. He was actually looking at IC-781 panoramic display and whenever
BIG SIG appeared, he would move mults station to that freq. As I was S&P 99%
of the time, he was VERY, VERY lucky. It did cost him a lunch but I feel the
SOP UNass. were NOT broken as HF contest radio was used to the full advantage.

Any comment on this greyish matter?

To those who care,

You can get Form FCC610V with all instructions from the FCC web page!
(http://fcc.gov) Go to the area dealing with Forms available on-line. I
downloaded the file '610V.zip', unzipped it, and viewed and printed it with
the windows version of JPEGView. All files are in .pcx format.

You can also get a shareware version of JPEGView from the same place.

Good Luck,
Steve, KC7EM

I don't doubt it, however I downloaded it very nicely from the FCC
WWW server this afternoon. It's there, in an image format (forget
which one -- but, Paint Shop Pro deals with it very well), and free
for the taking. The URL is:

  http://www.fcc.gov/Forms/Form610V/index.html

Having said that, the form does say that it's not to be filed until
the applicable gate has opened.
