I,m a new contester. I've been a ham for 2 yrs, this year's CQWW contests
were my first two. Had a blast. Did poorly(comparatively). So what? I
would like to place / get a certificate/ get mentioned in a mag/ see my call
in lights in Vegas on the strip. Sure would. But if I don't it's just ok
with me too. I have DISCOVERED Contesting!!! I'll be honing my skills all
year and I'll be back like gangbusters next Fall(and this Spring!). I may
not even make honorable mention in ANY category for 5 years or so...but I
will eventually. I'm a contester. 73, Mike KK5EP.

Here is another one of my wacky ideas:

Have you ever seen one of these internet peepholes where you can instruct
someone's video camera to take a picture and return it to you over
the internet?

Has anyone thought of hooking up their computer controlled radio to
the internet so you could: connect and give the radio a frequency,
have the radio tune to that frequency, and record and deliver the audio
file of what it heard? What a great way of judging how your signal
sounds from the other side.

Any thoughts?

Sorry for the abbreviated posting prior. Been having trouble getting things
out to reflector.

Well...after being anonymously unsubscribed, having the local phone
company's T-1 circuit go whacko during our monsoon and pacific version of a
hurricane ..... I'm back!

In the for what it's worth column:

Single op, high power CW only.

190 Q's
6 Countries
19 Sections/States
760 Qpts

19,000 pts.

Hi-lites:

It can't get any worse.

Lo-lites:

Maybe it could.

Last year I had 182 Q's running QRP, this year it took a kw to scratch out 190.

Loudest signal: K6LL +10

Sorry to all those who wanted me to QSY to SSB. After Phone SS I've had to
re-evaluate the net worth of SSB. Currently it holds fast to 3rd place just
above politicians and lawyers....but just below used car salesman and the
home shopping network.

At least one guy has thought of it. Plug this URL into your browser:
http://www.chilton.com/scripts/radio/R8-receiver

You can see how you sound in Reston, VA.
