TOWER GROUNDING

Wasn't sure if I should ask my question here or on the new tower
reflector.  Guess someone will chastise me if I should have posted
elsewhere.  I am putting up a 50 footer and currently have 2 ground
wires with ground rods.  These wires are about 30 feet long.  I will
be adding more in the near future.  My problem is, all of our utilities
are buried.  The only ground wire I can find near the electrical service
entry runs from the breaker box to a nearby outside water faucet.  Since
I believe the experts recommend all grounds be connected to get them
at the same potential, am I going to have to use the incoming water line
as a connection point?  What have others done about grounding with
underground utilities?

Any ideas certainly appreciated,

Some time ago a post was made about the rules for a club contest. This was
a local thing, mainly for the club only. As I recall it was on 10 meters.
Since I totally forget the time frame, searching the archives would not be
fun. If anyone was involved in a club contest and would care to share with
me the rules ... either in complete written form or from memory I would
appreciate your input.

Linn County Iowa just went through a 2 year development of a tower 
ordinance. it is available on the web at

It may not be exactly what you want - it wasn't exactly what we wanted - 
but it is what we got.

Generally multiple towers are not excluded ie. not mentioned.

Amateur towers are permitted accessory uses.

Amateur towers are permitted in side and rear yards, not font yards - 
includes guy anchors.

80' total height can go anywhere.

80' to 125' total height requires one acre lot and 70% setback for guyed 
towers and 100% setback for free standing. 125' becomes 150' in 
agricultural areas.

125' to 200' total height is permitted use on 35 acres and up.

Anything higher than permitted use or smaller set back needs a public 
hearing.

WAIT A MINUTE!!

Many contests are being administered by volunteers.  The FIRST step 
you should take if you are upset about the service is to VOLUNTEER
to help out.  

I have not yet sent out CW Sprint certificates yet and I think we have
gotten about 5 years beind on the plaques.  It is possible that I
will not have the resources available to do them at my new job.  I
hope we can find someone to help with this process (it is mostly
automated).  I will ask the first person who complains if they are
willing to help.

Anyone using this product that K6STI is selling?  

It's a program (TSR) that interfaces with a sound card and does DSP on 
your audio.  Sounds kind of neat.  Wondering if someone could give us a 
review?  Maybe Brian could give us some details, if it's OK with Trey.
