Well, actually, the FCC has said a Club must have a minimum of 4 members, not 2.

Could it be they're tying to get rid of us?

Frozen Gun Seeks Warmer Clime and Higher MUF for WW SSB.

The low sunspots mean WW SSB will not be exciting from Alaska - lots of
boring, low rate hours yelling at low band DX while getting one's rear end
kicked by mobiles and QRP stations. Couple that with some vacation and
frequent flyer miles that have to be used up this year and it's time to head
South! So here's my pitch:

KL7Y is looking to join a group doing a DX M/S or M/M for WW SSB . Since
this is also a vacation, I'm interested in a QTH that has decent hotels and
provides standard tourist sun and sand. Harmless Bikini-ogling I do quite
well. I'd prefer a hop out of KH6, but Caribbean or is OK. Also would
prefer to work at a QTH that has at least some antennas and towers in place
so I don't have to spend most of my vacation playing Field Day, although I
certainly would help with setup/teardown.

What can I do for multi-op group? First, I am an experienced contest
operator who operates all bands and regularly handles pileups as well as
dredging the muck on 80 and 160 in the wee hours. Second, I am a electronic
technician and as a multi-multi owner and maintainer I have seen and solved
a lot of problems typical to the multi-op contesting environment. Third, I
may be able to provide some equipment.

One other thing is that I have to get going on this fairly soon, that is,
get my vacation request turned in and get my airline tickets as early as
possible, so looking for a solid, definite effort.

Any offers?

I don't know if this is the same family in CA, but there is a family of 5
in La Mirada, CA that between them holds 36 Club callsigns, for a
grand total of 41 calls at one address! Some of the clubs even have the
same name and just change between "Club", "Association","Group",
"Organization" etc. Just for the record I have a new club call as well,
but that is for my repeater group that formed 3 months after the FCC
stopped issuing new club calls back in 1978. My understanding is as
the others here have, I have to wait for gate 2 to apply to change
our club call.

with apologies to Linda Elerbee,
...and so it goes....
