That's a fact. I've received several over the years stating
that "anyone with an Amateur Extra class license should know
that your signal extends 3 KHZ above and below your carrier
on SSB. Operating on 21.201 USB clearly put your signal into
the Novice band." Guess this guy got stuck on AM and missed
the news about what SINGLE SIDEBAND implies.

Hope the ARRL wouldn't DQ anyone from this OO's report!

80 was extremely noisy here the first night.

However, I think the main answer is that CW is a dying mode. The pot is
shrinking....

It is supposed to be back up this week. Stay tuned.

reflector is back yet. Changing servers is as bad as moving

Thanks K9SM I got my vanity call in the mid seventies when for a short
time and an Extra you could request your call with no extra cost

Hi,

The vanity stuff is taking over the reflector completly. I think there are
many who doesn't care about the vanity thing at all since the reflector=20
is a WW thing not a USA only reflector.
So I propose that someone in USA start a vanity reflector or newsgroup
there is really no reason for those news to be on contest or DX-reflector.
I also think that this vanity thing will not go away for several months due=
 to
the processing times and the way it's being discussed here so why not have
it elsewhere.

I'm sure it wastes a few seconds for me but, "AB4CDE AS ?FGH K" usually
gets the point across with the desired result. Is score so much more
important than encouraging proper operating technique?

Hi all,

What will happen with all these old calls of the vanity program.
Will they be reassigned ?, when? . I see problems in a few years
for qsl'ing.

I have been silent for TOO long. The man has a point, come on girls,
someone please put a vanity reflector together and take this vanity S**T
elsewhere!

Flame me, take me off this and all reflectors, I really don't care. But
please demonstrate why and how this vanity trash belongs on a contest
reflector.

Message-ID: <3285EE99.673 at gdi.net>

Sorry everybody to post another vanity message.
Hopefully this will be the only one I will post.
I was wondering if anyone has the location for information
regarding vanity applications where no action was taken.
(ie: all the calls applied for were taken already) I've
tried to look through the various databases with no luck
so far. I understand that all the 1st day applications were
processed. Tnx, Paul AE4JK.
