I don't believe this method would be bad. I think the receiver would be
happy to have the correct information and proceed accordingly. But, is it
really that hard to collect them and stick them in an envelope to your
manager every two to three weeks. Especially considering some of those cards
may have come from former East Block countries who just spent a day's wages
to get the card mailed to you.
Personally I enjoy doing my own QSLs and enjoy reading the comments from the
people I worked. But, it is a hugh chore that takes several evenings. And I
can understand where Trey is comming from. If you don't respond promptly the
next thing you know is you get a pile of 2nd requests.
The first thing I do when I return from a contest DXpedition is I have to
work overtime in my office to get caught up with my paying job. Returning
QSLs is the last thing on my mind. Then I have to get my pictures developed,
design a card and wait for the printer. Most times I get all this done
within 30 days but you can't believe the number of 2nd requests I have by
then.
I had one guy last year who worked me on my first day I was in Africa. He
promptly sent out a card request. When I got home 3 weeks later I received a
2nd request! I hadn't even had time to wash my underwear.
These are the exceptions and I belive to keep amateur radio the friendly
fraternity that it is you just have to stay cheerful and help out those
"without a clue" even though sometimes it kills you.
