Another great day at the PO box - the April issue of QST and another
fishing magazine.

Front cover photo of two Polish contesters (father and son team) and
their triband delta loop beam (anyone know if that is a commercial or
homebrew array?).

Contest related items: Results - ARRL 160 Meter Contest; Up Front in QST
- picture of WA6FGV's 160M Contest Antenna (can't wait for the
construction article on this one!, try modeling it!); The Radio Clubs of
Hungary (includes some pictures of contest stations); Product Review of
Alpha Delta Model VRC Variable Response Console (this is a review I've
been waiting for!); Hints & Kinks column - A 3 Band No-Tune Apex Loading
Network for an 80 Meter Inverted-L; Technical Correspondence column -
Headset Mikes & RF Feedback in the TS850; and (since this is the April
issue, it would not be complete without a good 'grin' article, thus we
have) Tips on How to Break in New Coax (now don't laugh, but in the
highend audiophile world, burn-in of some cables is recommended for best
sound, something about properly aligning the copper crystalline
structure).

Other interesting items: Product Review of Icom R-8500 Receiver; A
Single Board QRP SSB Transceiver for 20 or 75 Meters; Heathkit's 50th -
The Green Turns to Gold; and more....

Ads: Alpha Delta and Outbacker Antenna's 'Outreach Antenna' (2 page ad
just like the one in CQ); and Signal One is back with their 1030 CI HF
transceiver (looks like a modified IC781!)

Good luck in the CQ WPX Phone Contest. Check 10 meters occasionally,
please!
