Hi all:
After watching this thread for a while, I've decided to
throw my two cents in.
I seriously doubt that one years worth of magazine for
the contest results is worth the money. And I speak
only for myself, but my CQ, CQ Contest and QST subscrip-
tions are getting a very close look from my "toy" budget.
I don't believe I'm getting much dB gain for my buck so
to speak.
I understand how hard it is to obtain and develop inter-
esting articles and information every month - believe me,
I've been there and it's tough. But magazine (all current
magazines) content has slowly degraded to the point of being
silly sometimes. To me, it's not worth my dollars for once
a year contest results.
I'm still of the opinion that what contesting/ham radio
needs is a sanctioning organization to administrate and/or
sanction competition/amateur radio - a FCC substitute if
you will, but private.
Personally, I'd rather spend the $100 or so for magazine
subscriptions on a license fee to a sanctiioning organization
to get amateur radio back to what it used to be and the
competition within contesting categories reasonably level.
Just my opinion.
Ya'll have a nice, warm and sunny Easter.
