I guess that one of my earliest ham memories was finding the QST stack in
the library and checking them all out at once, then devouring them at home
in the ensuing days.  Doug DeMaw sure seemed to write a lot of articles!
They really got me thinking about equipment and kept me excited about
building, even when I was hopelessly inexperienced and had no parts or
tools.

If you would have asked me who I most admired in those beginning years,
Doug would have been one of the first answers.  He's still there.
