Hello to the group. I've been following the messages on the
refelector and it took me a few times to get on the list.

First let me tell you that my license class is Tech+ and my code is
lousy so I'm limited to the 10 meter band (not a good situation for
contesting) but my contest is coming up in Dec. The ARRL 10 meter
contest! Now if the band will open I intend to make a serious effort
this year.

I'm not a big gun (don't plan to ever be) maybe not even a little
pistol, more like a BB gun HI HI. Rig is a kenwood 940sat and a
butternut vertical but as long as the band is open I"ll be there!!!!

As to the thread on QSL's I've tried to get confirmation from PA
for a while sent SASE's sent green stamps everything I can think of
short of using the phone. These guys just don't QSL atleast the 3 I've
contacted, only need 8 or 9 more states (mostly the far NE us for
WAS. Maybe this year I can get them.

IF this is not a fit subject on here then just let me know and I'll
crawl back in the woodwok until I can contribute to the messages

Hello Cesar (PY2YP) and other fellow contesters,

I have been surfing a bit yesterday evening and night and finally
I found the correct rules for RSGB 21/28 MHz Contests at:

     http://users.colloquium.co.uk/~wylie/home.htmL

I'm very sorry I had old or incorrect rules and dates for this
contest on my site, but it's difficult to have it 100% correct if
you don't find the updated original rules and also if nobody tells
you it's incorrect or out of date. So please - if you find some
errors in the information - let me know where to find the correct
info and I will make the necessary changes.

Sorry, I haven't found them before and also that I haven't been
able to update the rules on my site. Just now I have no access to
the Web-server because they are working with it. We have had
unwanted visits from hackers who have changed the content of a
site on the server - happily not mine! The server providers now
have to do some work on the server and in the fire wall to try to
prevent that to happen in the future and that will take some time
(a few days only I hope).

Here is a copy of the rules:

RSGB 21 / 28 Mhz Contests

At the minimum of the sunspot cycle this Contest is a challenge to
exploit the often short propogation openings on these two bands.
We have now added a restricted section to enable stations with
less complex antennas to take part.

Date: Sunday 5 October 1997 - 0700 / 1900 utc. 21.150 - 21.350 Mhz
and 28.450 - 29.000 Mhz SSB

Date: Sunday 19 October 1997 - 0700 / 1900 utc. 21.000 - 21.150
Mhz and 28.000 - 28.100 Mhz CW

Exchange: RS(T) + Incremental Serial number starting 001 + UK
Stations will send their District Code.

Sections: UK Open; UK Restricted; UK QRP; Overseas Open; Overseas
Restricted; Overseas QRP; UK Receiving; Overseas Receiving.

QRP stations MUST use 10w RF OUTPUT maximum. In the restricted
sections, only one antenna is allowed which must be a single
element with a maximum height of 15m, and a maximum of 100
watts output. Entrants are reminded that the use of packet cluster
spotting or other spotting facilities must enter as multi-operator
stations.

Frequencies:
CW entrants are requested NOT TO OPERATE in the segment 21.075 -
21.125 Mhz.

Scoring:
The same station may be contacted on both bands for points.
(a) UK - 3 points per contact with overseas stations. Multipliers
as per General Rules.
(b) 3 points per contact with UK Stations. 1 multiplier for each
UK District worked on each band.

Entries must be sent to G3UFY. Closing date for logs - 16 November
1998.

I hope this will help you and I wish you good luck in the contest!
