The issues of reducing the hours of a contest is absurd. The contest will
lose all its meaning and stop being a meaningful pastime. When you stop
and think of the money and hard work involved in furnishing a radio
station with the information to broadcast for 24 to 30 hours and
encourage the participants and all of a sudden the hours are being
reduced, this will only discourage the participants. The rules have
already been established and abided with. Reducing the hours would only
be a great disappointment.

I would be in agreement with these radio amateurs of reducing the hours
of the contest, on one condition , lets reduce the hours of a day,
instead of 24 hours lets lower them to 16 hours. Everyone lives 24 hours
a day and does not complain, in fact, they wish the day would have more
hours. I feel the same way about contests. This kind of entertainment
satisfies us. Why then should they take this satisfaction from us,when
the contest in completed. I think it's an excuse for the loser to say
they lost because of the decision of reducing the hours. I think that
the measures being taken and thoughts of these individuals come from
people that just like everything done fast and without too much work
being involved. (THESE PEOPLE JUST WANT TO BE FED AND IT WOULD EVEN BE
BETTER IF THEY HAD SOMEONE MOVE THEIR JAW, SO THEY WOULD NOT HAVE TO
THROUGH THE TROUBLE OF CHEWING)

It is a shame that contests will loose their excitement. It's like you
preparing yourself for a 42 kilometer marathon, you just do it and don't
look for excuses. Why can't we just do the same. Everyone knows how long
a contest lasts, the ideal thing to do is to prepare ourselves for the
work involved and just do it.

It's an excuse of individuals that invest in radio stations and cannot get
into higher positions. They just blame it on being too tired. Anyone can
say that ....lets go on.....( I would like to hearfrom radio amateurs in
PUERTO RICO and the United States to hear their opinion on this
issue..........THANK CONTEST FOREVER ( 48 hours Yes)
