Well Now I have to put in my nickels worth.
After just operating WPX from EU last weekend. I think the odds are stacked
against US Stations in general. If I work a W5 from California I get no
points in this contest. However If I work DL 2 from Z3 (as I did a bunch
of) Then I get 1 point. Multiply that times multipliers and it can make a
bunch more than 1.
Now The distance there is no greater, it is no great feat to work EU from
EU, can almost be done with a dummy load. Yet there is one point awarded
because they are seperate countries.
Wanna make it real interesting!
here is an Idea:
Contacts on Same continent = 0 points*
*=can be worked for mults only
Contacts on different continent (on 10, 15, 20) = 1 point
Contacts on different continent (on 40, 80, 160)= 2 points

This seems to me like it would be a little more fair, however the rules
will never be "fair" to everybody.
LIVE WITH IT! It is called life. Do the best you can with what you have and
be Happy!

Heck West coast stations are always disadvantaged here, Mid west there,
east coast someplace else. It is all for fun!

West coast stations are not supposed to fair well in ARRL DX right??? Look
at the posted scores for CW and SSB, in fact Our club call (NM6Q) is top
ten M/S in SSB, also NK7U and KC7V are there, what happened!!!
Somebody must have decided to try a little harder! We can't have that now,
can we???

OK off my soapbox...73 and thank you to all of those that worked Z38X in WPX.

Mike...NO6X, Z38/NO6X, Z38X
