|All you guys considering electronic QSLing and how to make these confirmations
|fakeproof and easy downloadable for every award one can think of, thus
|eliminating the need for the ("useless") paper QSLs and making the award
|business much "better and easier", please consider one thing:
|
|why on earth are the QSLs a useless, painful piece of paper while the awards
|are not?

I will keep this brief, but the subject of more modern forms of QSL-ing does have bearing for contesters, with the volumes of contacts we make. And the fact that it is so much speedier. For instance, cards from my CQWW activity are already available on-line.

I understand your opinion. I am happy to tell you that when you download you card from "QSLs Online", our implementation, you your printer will print a card that looks the same as a regular one; even pictures may appear on it. The only thing is that it is probably not on cardboard. It is just the means of distribution that has changed.

We are not entirely happy with the transfer format and are looking into that.

The fakeproof issues are overrated.

Many contesters are *not* interested in awards, but the people who work them are.

The reasons for wanting a card must be weighed against all the money, work, and revitalisation of DX-ing/contesting opportunities which I mentioned. Of course everyone is entitled to feel that receiving traditional cards is great.

Season's greetings to everyone I have worked,

Goran/SM0DRD (T49C, SK0UX etc)

Thanks to all for your encouragement and helpful advice :-)

I have followed your suggestions and sent the 10m log with explanation.

It's nice to be involved in a sport with so many friendly people.

I did have a great time in the contest. You can read about my enjoyable
experience and results in a four page story at:
