Another item to add to this (based on my experience in the satellite
business): If you are really concerned about potential ESD damage,
make sure you use connector covers. I have seen ESD damage caused by
someone touching panel connectors on closed boxes. Some solid state
devices are sensitive to as little as 10 or 15 volts. Because of
poor electrical design, an unsuspecting person can zap the device by
inadvertently introducing a voltage through rear panel connectors,
for example.
