Hi Fred. 
A lot of people don't despair because they can't win, it's just that it 
gets very boring when you are operating a contest and you can't work the 
stations you are hearing because you have worked them before on some 
other band.  It's like fishing.  I love to fish, but I don't fish just so 
I can stand on the river bank with a hook and line in the river. If I am 
not catching any fish, it gets real boring-fast.  The same thing for 
contesting, if there aren't any stations to work, it isn't much fun. 
There are lots of guys who moved to the east coast from the west 
coast, and they say it is a whole lot more fun there.  I'd like someone 
to tell me one advantage of contesting from the west coast. 
But, I'll continue to do it and hope for that opening that gets the old 
adrenelin pumping. :-) 73 and See ya all later.
