So if I take W4AN's comments correctly the league was aware of the problem
and failed to notify the participants.  

I guess it is too much to ask for them to publish a list of received logs?

Too much to ask for the them to even acknowledge in public that there might
have been a problem so that the participants could have resubmitted their
logs?

Don't blame the technology on this one.  Technology should be an aid to the
process and not the process itself.  Somebody dropped the ball big time on
this one.
