Take a look at the SARTEK rotor interface developed by VE6RFM.  It is a lot
cheaper than Yaesu's.  It's available through PDA (the LOGic software
people) but will work with other logging software.  It works with Yaesu
rotors and a number of others -- even ones that weren't designed for
computer control.  It's a simple plug-in for the Yaesu, no modifications
required.

There's a free download of the SARTEK control program, a FAQ page, a page
listing logging programs it currently works with, plus a how-to on getting
it to work with other loggers.
