[CQ-Contest] Kenwood 930 problems?

Intresting....

I have a 930 as my second radio. 

Sometimes it doesn't "turn on". In other words I press the
on button and the display doesn't come on. (Neither does
the radio). I don't know if this is just a display board
problem or if it's something like the power supply not
working!

Sometimes the audio is down while the sidetone is very
loud. A "slap" on the cover usually corrects this problem.
Sounds like a plate through hole problem.... where do I
find the info on reparing this?

Can anything be done about the not turning on problem?

Don't know the serial number because I'm at work. Can 
check tonight.
