[CQ-Contest] Contesting in year 2000?

Good morning,
We have an information overload of advice on PC's as to
possible problems in the year 2000. It seems that the older
models of 286 and 386 are unlikely to be year 2000 compliant.
Our main contest programs are DOS based, and may also be affected.
Has anyone studied the ability of CT, TR and NA to work
accurately in next year's contests? Or do we go back to
paper logs?
Here is a suggestion for a possible workaround:
I would like to avoid throwing away my contest PC, so I am
looking at the possibility of rolling the date back to 1989,
instead of 1999. Then next year, it will work away happily,
believing that the year is 1990. CT will also work happily
in the date year of 1990.
Therefore if the ARRL Contest Committee will accept logs
for the ARRL DX Contest of 2000, to be dated as 1990
(with suitable disclaimer!) will the problem be solved?
What does the contest group think of all this-
do we have a problem?
Regards,
Martin ZL1ANJ
