Yup ... 6 dB because we're talking voltage here, not power.

We had an interesting IC-756PRO demo last night at the NCCC meeting. The 
dynamic range was touted as "theoretically 144 dB"  Note the key word: 
"Theoretically".  I have some reservations about their ability to achieve 
that sort of resolution and codec noise floor. Whats real?
