Hi all:

I just got my MFJ 434 DVK from TT. I read the manual (skipping most of it).
I followed the EASY instructions for setting it up for my brand radio -
Kenwood (TS940). I really like that ZERO wiring aspect, especially with just
one day to go before the WPX and my eye glasses having not been updated in
far too many years.

Then I read how to record each memory, how to set the output control
(recessed, back panel) and how to turn it on. I didn't connect the ground, I
used a RS wall wart I had hanging around for power.

Works fine. I haven't tried the KW (and won't), but no RF problems at 1
watt...or at 100 watts. Sounds pretty much like me too. Vox is no problem,
I didn't try PTT.

I do notice a delay between when you press the memory button to start
recording and when it actually starts to record. No big deal...after a few
tries, I got the timing down.

I haven't used it in a contest yet (but will REAL soon!). Guess I'll find
out if it will hold together for 48 (I mean 36) hours after this weekend.

So far, I'm happy. Oh yeah...I didn't try the repeat function...I don't have
a problem pushing the button all by myself! It might even keep me
interested. :-)
