[CQ-Contest] Fish in a barrel

There is NO competition in doing it from KP4. It would be a totally
different matter if N6TR, K5ZD, N5KO, and AG9A were in the habit of going
to the caribbean to compete. Then it's a competition.

So NP4Z makes a very good point. My message did not accomplish anything
except get Rich mad at me. Someone else suggested a more positive
solution would be to sponsor a continental winner plaque. This, in my
mind, would be "THE plaque" for the SS to win. So, I'm willing to put my
money where my mouth is... I'll sponsor both modes for this plaque for
the past 2 years and next year for the continental winner if that person
is not the overall winner. Assuming the ARRL will let me sponsor it.

Someone else suggested this plaque is the same thing as the Delta division
plaque. :)

I would add that only a matter of degrees separates flying to WP3R and
driving to a guest operator position at a big station in Georgia. Certainly
KP4 or KP2 provides a fabulous opportunity to score well, but if there were
no KP4 or KP2 on the air for the Sweepstakes, we'd all have to gripe about
the advantage the Gulf states have in the contest, wouldn't we?

Congratulations to the WP3R crew, both operators and station builders, for
setting the bar a little bit higher for the rest of us, damn it.
