No, he's not getting assistance, because there's no other PERSON 
assisting him. He's performing all of the functions (operating, logging, 
spotting) himself.

So, all those guys with FT-1000(D or MP)'s who use dual receive are 
suddenly assisted? After all, these radios have dual receivers.

Assistance has to COME FROM A PERSON. That's the distinguishing 
characteristic. Not the technology of the radios or station setup.
