Might I suggest a radical notion?  Don't use the
callsign databases in contests.  You'll copy what you
hear, if you can't get it right you won't be tempted
to guess from the database and your UBN score will
likely improve.  

I'll leave the ethical debate over using them out, as
we've beat that horse to a pulp over the years on this
reflector.
