[CQ-Contest] K5K Contest this weekend?

My wife heard me tuning around late Sunday afternoon
trying to snag K5K.

She asked if I was contesting. I said no. I told her a
bunch of hams are spending a lot of money to go to a
uninhabited pile of rocks out in the middle of nowhere
to live in tents and talk on their radios.

She then asked, so you ARE in a contest? 

I said no.

She asked, why would they do that if there wasnt a
contest going on?
