I am trying to use a Heil Pro Set 4 with a FT1000MP. The results to date in
terms of audio quality have been very poor. Can anyone advise if there are any
options with the 1000MP settings to ensure good results? Ian G3TMA

Early on in the eruption of UBN/accuracy e-mail after the stimuli of the
posting of the CQWW results some one actually nailed the answer to this
recurring dilemma...many have preached it...still a lot seem to think that
winners must somehow be doing something other than the most basic of acts:

COPYING WHAT WAS SENT

Yes, in this day of computers, etc it is when your copied exchange differs
from the computers database that an alarm is set off but ya know the best
way to minimize those alarms is:

COPYING WHAT WAS SENT

Knowledge of your fellow contesters can be helpful in anticipating what they
will send you, I kinda have a hunch that K4BAI is in Georgia, and anticipate
hearing that in his exchange, sure...but if one weekend John were to cross
the border and sent FL and I still submitted a log where it said GA,
well...I lose the QSO because I failed at:

COPYING WHAT WAS SENT

Some people have been known to deliberately force you to listen to what they
are sending by changing it every contest, I for one have not used the same
name twice in years in an NAQP...interesting how you all have your favorites
and remember me by them (I know one K2 station really liked when I used "Ice
Man" and I am forever that to him!)..but he will lose the next QSO with me
next go round if he fails at:

COPYING WHAT WAS SENT

If we all just do that, as opposed to accepting what the packet screen says,
and actually engage in:

COPYING WHAT WAS SENT

I think most of these problems will be minimized...anyone notice that the
WRTC this past go had copying competitions, anyone notice that the
co-champions were very good at:

COPYING WHAT WAS SENT

Anyone can send it, and much of what contesters tend to grade a transceiver
on focuses not on how well it xmits but how well it helps them at:

COPYING WHAT WAS SENT

Get it?
