[CQ-Contest] Help: Need new logging laptop

Hi Gang,

During a nice run in the RAC last night, the HD on my Compaq 486/SL25 died.
Time to replace with a newer model. 

Has anyone bought a computer from one of the internet sites like
www.notebookmall.com ?

Seems I can get a 266MHz pentium, cd, etc. for under $500.  

Are there any laptops that are PERFECT for /P logging due to connection
layout, TFT monitor, cheap batteries or direct use of 12V (like my dead
Compaq)?
