The "clicks" are not necessarily related to problems with they keying
waveform in some "modern" transceivers.  If their synthesizers do not
stabilize BEFORE the production of RF (a very real possibility with
QSK), the frequency instability (sweep, overshoot and settle) will
"broaden" a signal much like old-fashioned "hard edge" keying.
