How about using "... Dog Xray" as the phonetics to get the "ahh" sound out
of the D letter?
Our club has K8DAC for the club call... In contesting conditions with heavy
qrm, I can strike out several times in a row with standard phonetics... So,
I wait for the next right moment and drop, "Drunken American Cowboy!", just
once... Works every time....  I use it sparingly, just when all else
fails...
