Nope. Not at all.

Hours of 18, 27, 22 does suck. Will I not participate? Hell no. It is still
fun! But, why not simply allow more than band/Q?

I'm not thinking along the lines of shortening it. Or low power only. Just
simply allowing me to work a guy on another band. Is this really too radical?

Another responce is "tradition". Hmm..."traditionally", didn't we all log
with pencil & paper & use bugs? By the way, I AM of the "MTV" generation,
but this was my 21st SS, so I also have tradition. I tend to be a pro-active
person. Why revive something after it has died? Lets keep it from dying. We
can't deny that our hobby is losing out to other hobbies, right? But, it
seems that contesting is holding it's own. Do we have as many "young" guys in
contesting? No. But, we don't really have many "young" guys in the hobby.

I see a very large increase in contesting here in the midwest, all in due to
the efforts of the SMC. Hearing from new members (new contesters) about how
exciting contesting is, really ignites a flame inside. It should ignite all
of us. Part of drive is the desire to make things better. Folks, that's all
I'm suggesting. Don't worry, I don't want to "break" your contest.....just
tune it up for the new century!

BTW, I hope this won't cost me any Q's in 2 weeks! ;-)
