You have struck a chord here!

I use contest call ZS9P, and about 10% of stations hear the"9" as a "5" the
first time round.  I waste quite a bit of time in correcting them, but the
errors in final logs are probably still 1-2%.

I have asked many people if my diction is at fault but everyone I have asked
says my audio is excellent and diction the same.

I tried saying "niner" but many OM's hear this as two syllables and get
confused.

What to do?
