[CQ-Contest] Operating Contests "Out of Region"

Perhaps this is more of a general rule question rather than a specific
contesting question but it is relevant in many contesting situations so I
thought this would be an appropriate place to voice it. My home QTH is in MD
and the address printed on my license is a MD address. However, I am
attending college in NC. If I am to operate contests from a station here in
NC, according to FCC rules, would I be required to sign "WZ3AR/4" or could I
continue signing just "WZ3AR" as I did from MD? In other words, can I
operate legally from a location other than the one printed on my license
without a specific designator on my call? Any help would be much
appreciated. Thanks!
