Will let you in on a secret...  10m is open at least 22h a day generally
from where I operate VK8AA (darwin)....   that why I don't mind the 3500km
trip. I wound up working in Darwin for 2 years on the basis of a phone
call, and have fallen in love the place - and the propagation there.

I'm probably not allowed to say that Defence have a serious radio
intelligence setup nearby for good reason, but hey it is right beside the
(only) main highway into the place.
