I find that a headset that has minimum contact with the ear is more
desirable.  I've been using an old Military style that was made to use in an
aircraft high noise enviroment.
Most of you have seen them at ham fest.  They are a light grey in color and
some have a microphone attached.  The microphone is usless.  I have attached
a Heil mike cartridge to the old microphone with sewing thread and it has
worked great for many years and even while wearing glasses not caused a
great deal of discomfort.  The earphones are intended as communications so
none (very little) of the high freq stuff comes through.
